Feb 2014: First Sorbetto. Hideous fabric, far too big, far too short (this was before I discovered that despite being only 5'2", I have an oddly long torso and need to add 2inches to every top I make).
Weirdly long torso, surely not?! I pride myself on noticing proportional oddities and have never noted such on you. Actually, my main proportional preoccupation is with large heads on narrow shoulders and oddly small feet on tall bodies. I guess that's what comes of being a broad-shouldered, abnormally large-headed bigfoot ;-) But you, on the other hand, have always seemed perfectly proportioned.
Haha, v kind of you! ;-) I'm afraid the patterns don't lie though...virtually every top I make I need to add a good couple of inches to! It's weird! A colleague did recently just exclaim over how short she realised I was (she's worked with me for about a year). We decided in the end it must be because when I sit at a desk in meetings my top half seems tall?! Ah the weirdness of the human form. Sewing does help you realise how futile shopping for clothes in a standard fit often is, if nothing else!
